Innovation in Power Electronics: Participation in the European PhD School 2026
Today’s graduates are the future backbone of academia and the industry—this is what makes the ECPE’s European PhD School such a crucial event for power electronics in Europe. Every year, PhD students, lecturers, and industry experts from all over the world gather at Gaeta’s Angevin-Aragonese castle to present their work, share ideas, and catch up on the latest developments.
ZES ZIMMER has been a faithful supporter of the event since 2017, and this year marked our first participation under the Rohde & Schwarz flag. This milestone was crowned by a keynote speech given by Patrick Fuchs, Global Market Segment Manager Power Electronics, on the topic: “Data Centre: Ensuring Efficiency, Compliance, and Performance Through Advanced Power Measurement.” Patrick explained the concatenation of device efficiencies from grid to chip and highlighted the importance of reliable measurement for overall optimization.
Thanks to the great local support provided by our Italian T&M Sales Manager, Tommaso Tessitore, and his team, we could exhibit a broad variety of instruments at our booth and give the students a glimpse into our test & measurement portfolio for the power electronics world. Whether they will use those instruments in their future research and R&D, or whether the encounter with Rohde & Schwarz has awakened their interest in joining the company after graduating—our annual trip to Gaeta is always time well invested!
